The second variable of REACT, E (Examine) is a critical step in the REACT process: once again we’ll explain the key difference between R and E through detailed on-the-water examples.
The third step in REACT, A (Approach), informs your understanding of the rivers conditions. We’ll teach you how to distinguish between Approach A and Approach B, and how this understanding will influence your selecting the proper flies for the situation.
Choose…the step where we actually select the fly/flies. For this section of the class, we’ll explain how you should synthesize the preceding steps together so you can choose the right fly
How do you know when to change flies if the fly you choose isn’t working? What does changing flies look like; do you size down the hook size or try an entirely different pattern? What if a trout refuses your fly?
For the final variable of REACT, T (Try), we’ll teach you the Rule of 20 and share useful guidelines for changing fly patterns.
